In the deepest depths of the ocean lie wonders and horrors unimaginable, as the crew of the expeditionary submarine Undine discovered upon their encounter with this unknown being.
Inspired by the various creatures of the Lovecraft Mythos while studiously avoiding resorting to tentacles.

A wing-ship sails above the tumultuous landscape of the plane of fire, escorted by Pyre-worms.
This Piece was done as a bit of world-building for a personal project. I wanted to explore what the Plane of Fire could look like while avoiding making it look like a fiery hellscape.

This piece was inspired by an image I found on pinterest.

I like insects and thought that the image was adorable, so I made this.

This piece was done for a class project in which we were asked to depict something internal externally.
Here the internal ferocity of the chihuahua is shown by the shadow looming over the larger dogs.
The title is a reference to the saying "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog" by Mark Twain.

This piece was done when I was studying art history. It was inspired by a piece called Dying Gaul from the Greek hellenistic period.
I chose an orc for this piece because they are the prototypical fantasy bad guys and I wanted to portray one with a bit more empathy.

This piece... requires some explanation.
Basically, former baseball player and author of Keepers of the Sandlot Bill Severns came to speak to our class at the Kansas City Art Institute. During his talk he brought up the topic of migrating geese and how the classic V-formation helps weaker flyers keep up with the flock.
Anyway, he said something along the lines of "That's quality honking", and this is the result.

This was a class project, the goal was to create a piece of art based on one of the songs by the band Freight Train Rabbit Killer.
I chose the song Little Black Train and took heavy inspiration from the work of the late H. R. Giger.

This was done for an elective. The goal was to do concept art for a book of our as if we were working on a movie.
I chose Stephen King's Dark Tower series (possibly a mistake, as I've never read the books) and I found these characters to be interesting.
I am in no way affiliated with Mr. King or the upcoming movie.
This is a character I created as an artistic representation of myself.
He is based on my logo and is envisioned as something of a cosmic explorer and artist who visits other worlds and draws inspiration from them.
The mask and coat are for protection from hazardous environments and the boots facilitate standing for long periods.

These are designs for the protagonist of a webcomic project I'm developing. It follows the adventures of Alexander Ulfursson, a young man who discovers that he is a werewolf. The comic follows him at various points in his life as he seeks to understand his own nature.
Alexander is a sullen and antisocial character who feels like an outcast wherever he goes and has difficulty trusting anyone.
Pencil, 2017
These are designs for Alexander's wolf form.
I wanted Alexander's wolf form tolook unique from the multitudes of werewolves who have appeared in media, so I looked at multiple creatures besides wolves for reference including baboons, hyenas, and gorgonopsids (a group of prehistoric reptiles).
More studies for alexander's human form.
One of the concepts I had in mind for Alexander was that even in human form he would look strange, with massive amuonts of body hair and strange proportions. Because of his unusual body shape, Alexander finds it dificult to find clothes that fit him, adding to his sense of being out of place.
These are designs for one of Alexander's opponents, an enigmatic monster-hunter called the Silver Man.
The original concept for the Silver Man was that he would be completely clad in silver armor to protect himself from supernatural creatures.
Digital, 2017
This is an age progression study for the protagonist of my webcomic project.
Since the story would follow Alexander from childhood to adulthood, it was important to figure out how he would look at different stages of his life.
I also wanted to maintain a consistent color scheme throughout in order to aid recognition.
the design for Alexander is close to the final, but may undergo some tweeking, specifically in the body hair thickness.
